About Us
The Metered Parking Action Group is a community group of volunteers representing not only the nine original areas affected by the parking proposals (see map below) but areas throughout the west end who are impacted by the parking chaos which is a direct result of the Council's imposed controlled parking zones (CPZ).
We are representative of a large number of residents, businesses and visitors to the area who feel outraged that little consultation has taken place to discuss the effects and devastation such controls have caused.
Our Cause
As a united group, we continue to fight to make the Council review
their ill-conceived and inconsiderate scheme, a scheme which only serves to
generate income for the Council and in no way deals with the commuter
parking issues which are evident in small pockets but not throughout
the west end. The Council's "one-size-fits-all" scheme is flawed and is
causing many problems to many people including the business community,
house-bound disabled, carers, visitors to name a few.
Our group is growing daily with more and more people realising the implications of these draconian measures. Our City Council have a duty to communicate effectively and consult with the electorate to whom they are accountable. This is what the Metered Parking Action Group continues to fight for.
